Start Me Up 2011

WOW! What an awesome day! Weren’t we blessed with the fine weather.

We had 175 women participate in Start Me Up on Sunday 2 October. By the looks on all the faces coming in at the finish, and afterwards, you all had a great time.

We had a great time bringing Start Me Up to you.  But remember you’ve now ‘started’ and consistency is the key to regular exercise – whether your aim is fitness and health or weight loss.  Keep walking, running or cycling!

Hope those who won spot prizes will make the most of them.  And others, enjoy your hand creams and vouchers!  I know I will!

And we have some great photos!  The link to the photos at Photo bucket is below. The password is SMU2011

About Start Me Up

Our aim is to encourage women to exercise regularly, and see the gains in health and fitness.

That’s what Start Me Up is about – realising the long-term benefits for your body – physically and mentally – that come with a routine of regular exercise and looking after your health.

For details of the 2 October event, see event details.

Research shows women need and appreciate supportive friends, families and role models to keep them motivated and help them find the time to stick to exercise programmes. So, let’s all support each other to make a habit of regular exercise and healther lives!

Start Me Up is held in partnership with Ignite Sport.  This is a volunteer organisation established to support, encourage and equip all people in sport to develop as athletes and as individuals. Since 2001 Ignite has run sports academy programmes for young people and is now looking to diversify its activities to further serve individual athletes, teams and NZ Sport in general. So come on – get started!
